- Introduction
The Census of India 2011 was the 15th National Census of the country and the 7th since Independence. It was conducted in two phases—House Listing & Housing Census and Population Enumeration—under the supervision of the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India. With the tagline “Our Census, Our Future”. It provided detailed data on population, literacy, sex ratio, and socio-economic indicators, making it one of the largest administrative exercises in the world.
